Belmont Abbey's Bonito Named Week 11 Women's Volleyball Player of the Week

          

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Belmont Abbey College setter Cassidy Bonito has been named Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for matches played Oct. 29 - Nov. 4, the Conference announced today. This marks her second POTW of the year and third overall for Belmont Abbey.

Bonito, a junior from Pompano Beach, Fla., led Belmont Abbey to a 2-0 record last week with wins over Mount Olive and Barton. The wins would secure the Crusaders a regular season North Division title, which is the first for the program since 2013. Bonito would post a pair of double-doubles after dishing out 64 assists for a 10.67 per set average, while hitting .273 and adding 22 digs, eight kills, four blocks and two aces. 

In a 3-0 sweep over Mount Olive, Bonito dished out 28 helpers with 11 digs for a double-double with six kills, two blocks and one ace. To close out the week, Bonito posted a double-double of 36 assists and 11 digs to go along with two kills, two blocks and one ace in a 3-0 sweep of Barton.


Belmont Abbey's Chrapliwy Named Week 10 Women's Volleyball Player of the Week

          

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Belmont Abbey College outside hitter Mackenzie Chrapliwy has been named Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for matches played Oct. 22-28, the Conference announced today. This marks her first POTW of the year and second for Belmont Abbey.

A junior from South Bend, Ind., Chrapliwy kept Belmont Abbey atop the North Division by going 2-0 last week in division play against Lees-McRae and King. She tallied 37 kills for 4.11 kills per set while hitting .232 and posting a pair of double-doubles. Chrapliwy also collected 29 digs, three blocks, three assists and two aces.

In a five-set win over Lees-McRae, Chrapliwy put away a career-high 24 kills while registering 12 digs for a double-double with one ace and one block. She would post a double-double of 13 kills and 17 kills with three assists, two blocks and one ace in a 3-1 win over King to close out her week.


Emmanuel's de Blanck Named Week 9 Women's Volleyball Player of the Week

          

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Emmanuel College middle blocker Julie de Blanck has been named Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for matches played Oct. 15-21, the Conference announced today. This marks the second POTW of the year for both de Blanck and Emmanuel.

De Blanck, a senior from Copenhagen, Denmark, led Emmanuel to a 2-0 record in a pair of Conference Carolinas sweeps last week. She hit .444 and tallied 27 kills for a 4.50 kills per set average to go along with six blocks, five digs, one ace and one assist.

In a 3-0 win over Mount Olive, de Blanck hit .522 and notched 14 kills with four digs, two blocks, one assist and one ace. She would follow that performance up with 13 kills on a .387 hitting percentage with four blocks and one dig in a 3-0 victory over Barton.


King's Ward Named Week 8 Women's Volleyball Player of the Week

          

HIGH POINT, N.C. – King University outside hitter Julie Ward has been named Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for matches played Oct. 8-14, the Conference announced today. This marks the second POTW of the year for both Ward and King.

A freshman from Berthoud, Colo., Ward led King to a 2-0 conference record last week, including a 3-0 sweep of league-leading Barton, after hitting .385 and averaging 4.67 kills per set for the week. She would also tally 20 digs, and four blocks on the week.

In the sweep of Barton, Ward would post a double-double of 15 kills and 13 digs with one block. She would follow that performance with a 13 kill, seven dig and three block outing in a 3-1 win over Mount Olive.


Southern Wesleyan's Johnson Named Week 7 Women's Volleyball Player of the Week

          

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Southern Wesleyan University's outside hitter Olivia Johnson has been named Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for matches played Oct. 1-7, the Conference announced today.

Johnson, a sophomore from Anderson, S.C., led Southern Wesleyan to a 2-1 record last week after posting 59 kills for a 4.54 kills per set average with 52 digs, four blocks and three aces with three double-doubles.

In a 3-1 win over Converse, Johnson would register a double-double of 22 kills and 15 digs with one block. In a 3-2 win against Belmont Abbey, Johnson would post a 20-20 double-double, going for 23 kills and 26 digs with two blocks and one ace. In the week finale against Lees-McRae, Johnson would notch 14 kills and 11 digs with two aces and one block.


Barton's Elkins Named Week 6 Women's Volleyball Player of the Week

          

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Barton College outside hitter Kaytlin Elkins has been named Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for matches played during the week of Sept. 24-30, the Conference announced today.

A sophomore from Hope Mills, N.C., Elkins paced Barton to another 2-0 record last week in Conference Carolinas play. She hit .316 and posted 42 kills for a six kills per set average along with 20 digs, three aces and two blocks.

In a 3-0 sweep of Mount Olive, Elkins hit .429 and put away 22 kills, six digs, two aces and one block. She followed up that outing with a 20-kill, 10-dig double-double with one ace and one block in a 3-1 win over King.


Barton's Elkins Named Week 5 Women's Volleyball Player of the Week

          

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Barton College outside hitter Kaytlin Elkins has been named Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for matches played during the week of Sept. 17-23, the Conference announced today.

Elkins, a sophomore from Hope Mills, N.C., led Barton to a 2-0 record last week in Conference Carolinas play. She hit .232 and posted 31 kills for a 5.17 kills per set average with 20 digs.

In a 3-0 sweep of Belmont Abbey, Elkins put up a double-double with 19 kills and 11 digs with one block. She followed up that performance with 12 kills and nine digs and an ace in a 3-0 sweep of Lees-McRae.


Limestone's Williams Named Week 4 Women's Volleyball Player of the Week

          

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Limestone College outside hitter Madysen Williams has been named Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for matches played during the week of Sept. 10-16, the Conference announced today.

A freshman from Antioch, Tenn., Williams led the Saints to a 1-1 record in conference play last week after averaging 3.20 kills per set. In a 3-0 sweep of Southern Wesleyan, Williams would notch 14 kills and hit .379 with two digs. In a 3-0 loss to Emmanuel, she would register two kills and three digs in two sets of play.


King's Ward Named Week 3 Women's Volleyball Player of the Week

          

HIGH POINT, N.C. – King University outside hitter Julie Ward has been named Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for matches played during the week of Sept. 3-9, the Conference announced today.

Ward, a freshman from Berthoud, Colo., played in four matches and averaged 3.77 kills per set, but helped paced the Tornado to a 4-1 record last week. She posted two double-doubles after hitting .281 and tallying 49 kills, 42 digs, three blocks, two aces and one assist on the week.

Ward started the week with a near double-double, putting up 14 kills, nine digs and two blocks in a 3-0 sweep of Virginia-Wise. In a 3-0 loss to No. 16 Gannon, she would manage seven kills and seven digs with an ace. Ward continue her dominance in her final two matches of the week, going for 17 kills and 16 digs in a 3-1 win over Concord, followed by 11 kills and 10 digs in a 3-0 sweep of Kentucky State.


Belmont Abbey's Bonito Named Week 2 Women's Volleyball Player of the Week

          

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Belmont Abbey College setter Cassidy Bonito has been named Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for matches played during the week of Aug. 27 - Sept. 2, the Conference announced today.

A junior from Pompano Beach, Fla., Bonito posted a triple double and two more double-doubles on the week. The setter tallied 216 assists to average nine per set, while also notching 43 kills, 42 digs and 15 service aces. Bonito's triple double would come in a match against Mars Hill, where she dished out 46 helpers, collected 12 digs and put away 10 kills.


Emmanuel's de Blanck Named Week 1 Women's Volleyball Player of the Week

          

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Emmanuel College middle blocker Julie de Blanck has been named Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for matches played during the week of Aug. 24-26, the Conference announced today.

De Blanck, who hails from Copenhagen, Denmark, led the Lions to a 3-1 record at the Coker/FMU Invitational over the weekend. The senior hit .414 and posted 48 kills for a 3.69 kills per set average, while also collecting 14 total blocks, 11 digs and eight service aces.

In the season opener against Virginia Union, de Blanck would tally 14 kills on a .458 hitting percentage with three aces and three blocks to pace the Lions to a 3-0 sweep. Against Winston-Salem State, de Blanck paced the Lions to another sweep with nine kills, six digs, four aces and two blocks. In a 3-1 setback against UIndy, de Blanck produced 15 kills, three blocks and two digs. In the weekend finale against Catawba, de Blanck registered 10 kills, six blocks and one ace in the 3-0 sweep.
