Mount Olive's Hanle Named Week 7 Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week

      

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Mount Olive's Leah Hanle has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for races ran the week of Oct. 15 - 21, the Conference announced today. This marks Hanle's third POTW of the year and the fourth for Mount Olive.

Hanle picked up her first individual championship of the season with her first place finish at the NCAA National Preview held in Pittsburgh, Pa. The junior from Lichtenstein, Germany, finished the 6K race in 21:54, a full seven seconds faster than the runner in second place. 

The 23rd nationally ranked Trojans finished 7th of 30 teams at the NCAA National Preview Meet.


Mount Olive's Hanle Named Week 6 Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week

      

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Mount Olive's Leah Hanle has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for races ran the week of Oct. 8 - 14, the Conference announced today. This marks Hanle's second POTW of the year and the third for Mount Olive.

Leah Hanle, a junior from Lichtenstein, Germany, finished second overall at the regionally competitive Royal Cross Country Challenge hosted by Queens University in Charlotte, N.C. with a new school record of 16:43 in the women's 5k run. Hanle crushed her previous PR and school record of 16:56 by a full 13 seconds. 

The 24th nationally ranked Trojans women's cross country team placed 6th out of 45 teams at the Royal Cross Country Challenge this past weekend. 


Mount Olive's Hanle Named Week 5 Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week

      

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Mount Olive's Leah Hanle has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for races ran the week of Sept. 24-30, the Conference announced today.

Leah Hanle, a junior from Lichtenstein, Germany, was the highest finishing Trojan for Mount Olive in the Women's Gold 6K race with her 8th place finish running a time of 20:46. Hanle was the second Division II runner to cross the line in a predominantly Division I school dominated race. Hanle's time at the Paul Short would qualify for second fastest in the UMO records behind her own PR of 20:28.


King's Barton Named Week 3 Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week

      

HIGH POINT, N.C. – King's Kirstin Barton has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week, the Conference announced today.

For the second straight week, Barton led the Tornado with a personal record under hurricane conditions. The San Antonio native set a 6k PR by more than three minutes at the Virginia Tech Alumni Meet last week... She finished in 24:717.3 bettering her previous best time fo 27:36.37.


King's Barton Named Week 2 Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week

      

HIGH POINT, N.C. – King's Kirstin Barton has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week, the Conference announced today.

A native of San Antonio, Texas, Barton started her season with a runner-up finish at the Tusculum Zaxby's Open this Friday, September 7. The junior finished the 5k race in 20:56:2 to lead the Tornado in a third place team finish. 


Mount Olive's Ritter Named Week 1 Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week

     

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Mount Olive’s Celine Ritter has been named the Conference Carolinas Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week, the Conference announced today.

A native of Roesrath, Germany, Ritter took a 1st-place finish at the inaugural Mount Olive Twilight this Friday, August 31. In her season opener, the sophomore would help pace Mount Olive to a team victory. The Trojans almost had a clean sweep taking seven of the top eight spots. Celine Ritter finished first for Mount Olive and in the field crossing the line at the time of 23:44.3. Mount Olive finished 1:15 ahead of the second place finisher UNC Pembroke.
