HIGH POINT, N.C. - Four Conference Carolinas baseball players were selected in the 2018 MLB Draft. North Greenville University had two players drafted, while Barton College and Belmont Abbey College each had one player selected.
The first Conference Carolinas player to come off the board was North Greenville's Connor Grant in the 21st round to the Miami Marlins with the 627th pick. Trent Fennell of Barton would then be selected 726th overall in the 24th round by the Colorado Rockies. Rounding out the draftees were North Greenville's John Jones at No. 953 in the 32nd round to the Oakland Athletics and Belmont Abbey Matt McGarry at No. 1027 in the 34th round to the New York Yankees.

Conference Carolinas is a NCAA Division II athletics conference made up of 11 teams from Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. These institutions consist of: Barton College, Belmont Abbey College, Converse College, Emmanuel College, Erskine College, King University, Lees-McRae College, Limestone College, University of Mount Olive, North Greenville University and Southern Wesleyan University. Emmanuel College is currently completing the NCAA DII membership process and will be fully competing in league championships in the near future.
