Pfeiffer's Clark Named Third Team All-America by Basketball Times

MATTHEWS, N.C. - Pfeiffer University guard A.J. Clark was named an All-America selection by Basketball Times on Tuesday afternoon. The senior earned third team honors.

This marks Clark's fifth postseason award, as the senior was named to the 2016-17 D2CCA All-Southeast Region first team, 2016-17 NABC Southeast All-District second team, 2016-17 Conference Carolinas first team and was tabbed the 2016-17 Conference Carolinas Player of the Year.

Clark was selected to the third team after finishing third in the Conference in scoring with 21.1 points per game and second with 4.0 assists this season. He scored in double digits in all but three contests for the Falcons and had over 30 points on four occasions. Clark also finished the year in the top 10 in the conference in: free throws made, free throw percentage, field goals made, 3-pointers made and 3-point percentage.

Conference Carolinas is a NCAA Division II athletics conference made up of 12 teams from Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. These institutions consist of: Barton College, Belmont Abbey College, Converse College, Emmanuel College, Erskine College, King University, Lees-McRae College, Limestone College, University of Mount Olive, North Greenville University, Pfeiffer University, and Southern Wesleyan University. Emmanuel College is currently completing the NCAA Membership Process and will be fully competing in league championships in the near future.
