HIGH POINT, N.C. – University of Mount Olive guard Tayon Gleaves has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Nov. 13-19, the Conference announced today.
A senior from Charlotte, N.C., Gleaves led the Trojans to two victories in their annual Pickle Classic. In the two wins, Gleaves averaged 19 points and 4.5 steals per game.
Against St. Augustine's, Gleaves posted a career high in points and steals with 27 and six, respectively, to go with three assists in a 99-84 win. In the Pickle Classic finale, Gleaves would drop 11 points and three steals to pace the Trojans to a 64-58 victory over Virginia Union.
