Four Conference Carolinas Men's Golfers Earn Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar Honors

NORMAN, OKLA. - Conference Carolinas was represented by four men's golfers from two member institutions on the 2017-18 Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar Team, the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) announced Wednesday (July 25) afternoon.

Barton College notched three of the conference's recipients, with Derek Hamm, Scott Pechacek and Justin Plane earning the honors. Rounding out the honorees was King University's Robert Wilkinson.

To be eligible, an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50-percent of his team's competitive rounds, have a stroke-average under 76.0 in Division I, 78.0 in Division II, 77.0 in NAIA and 79.0 in Division III, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.20. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.

Conference Carolinas is a NCAA Division II athletics conference made up of 11 schools from Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. These institutions consist of: Barton College, Belmont Abbey College, Converse College, Emmanuel College, Erskine College, King University, Lees-McRae College, Limestone College, University of Mount Olive, North Greenville University, and Southern Wesleyan University.
