HIGH POINT, N.C. – University of Mount Olive opposite Robert Poole has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Volleyball Player of the Week for games played from Feb. 12-18, the Conference announced today.
A senior from Enfield, England, Poole helped the Trojans go 3-0 last week with his strong play. He put away 40 kills on the week for a 4.44 kills per set average and .359 hitting percentage, while also tallying 28 digs, seven service aces and five blocks.
In a straight-set victory over Coker, Poole went for 11 kills, seven digs, three aces and two blocks. Three days later in a Conference tilt against Belmont Abbey, Poole notched 15 kills with eight digs to lead UMO to a 3-0 victory. In the week's finale, Poole earned a double-double of 14 kills and 13 digs with four services aces and two blocks in a 3-0 win over Queens (NC).
Poole currently has a 3.86 kills per set average on 143 totak kills. His kills per set lead Conference Carolinas, while his .62 service aces per set also lead the league.
