Converse's Davis Named Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C.Converse College forward Nigeria Davis has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Nov. 13-19, the Conference announced today.

Davis, a freshman from Newberry, S.C., led the Valkyries to a 4-0 week after averaging 9.3 points, 10.3 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game.

In an 94-70 blowout of Bob Jones, Davis registered a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds to go with four steals. She would follow that performance up with another double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds in a 69-57 win over P.R.-Bayamon. In a 72-66 victory over Columbia International, Davis would score eight points and grab six boards. In the week's finale, Davis pulled down 14 boards and tallied four points in a 66-63 win over Mars Hill.
