Limestone's Richardson Named Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C.Limestone College guard Jasmine Richardson has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Jan. 1-7, the Conference announced today. This marks Limestone's third POTW honor of the season.

A senior from Talladega, Ala., Richardson shot 54.8 percent from the field and averaged 23 points, six rebounds and 1.7 steals last week as the Saints went 2-1 in Conference play.

In a 68-62 win over Emmanuel, Richardson would chip in 17 points with three rebounds and one steal. In a narrow 70-69 overtime loss to Southern Wesleyan, the guard would post her first career double-double with 23 points and 11 boards to go with three steals and two assists. In the week's finale against North Greenville, Richardson would drop a career-high 29 points with four boards and one steal in a 88-68 victory.

Richardson currently averages 18.6 points and 5.7 rebounds per game. Her points per game rank fourth in Conference Carolinas.
