HIGH POINT, N.C. – Barton College and Emmanuel College each heard their names called and earned bids to the 2019 NCAA Women's Basketball Championship, the NCAA announced Sunday (Mar. 10) night.
The Lions earned the No. 7 seed as an automatic qualifier after winning the 2019 Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Championship on Friday (Mar. 8) night. Emmanuel (24-6) will face No. 2 seed University of North Georgia in the first round.
The Bulldogs (24-5) received the No. 8 seed in the Southeast Region as an at-large team and will play No. 1 seed Anderson (S.C.) University in the first round.
The Southeast regional will be played Mar. 15, 16 and 17 on the campus of Anderson (S.C.) University.
Conference Carolinas is a NCAA Division II athletics conference made up of 11 teams from Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. These institutions consist of: Barton College, Belmont Abbey College, Converse College, Emmanuel College, Erskine College, King University, Lees-McRae College, Limestone College, University of Mount Olive, North Greenville University, and Southern Wesleyan University.
