HIGH POINT, N.C. – King University center Kori West has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Dec. 28-30, the Conference announced today.
A junior from Shelby, N.C., West posted her seventh double-double of the season in King's lone game against Virginia-Wise last week. West scored 23 points by going 10-for-16 from the field and making three free throws. She completed her double-double by pulling down 13 rebounds to go with three blocks and two assists in King's 62-54 victory.
West currently averages 15.8 points, 11.8 rebounds, 2.3 blocks and 1.9 assists per game. Her rebounds per game rank first in Conference Carolinas, while her blocks and points per game rank third and fourth, respectively.
Also nominated for Women's Basketball Player of the Week:
Taylour Hunter (Limestone) - Averaged 22 points, five rebounds, three steals, two assists and one block in one game.
Haylee Luttrell (North Greenville) - Averaged 26 points, four steals, one rebound and one assist in one game.
