Barton's Elkins Named to AVCA All-Region Team

LEXINGTON, KY. - Barton College's Kaytlin Elkins was Conference Carolinas' lone honoree on the 2017 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-Southeast Region team, the Association announced today.

Elkins was named the Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Year while also earning first team all-conference accolades and leading Barton to the regular season and tournament championships. She led the conference and the region with 4.41 kills per set, adding 2.10 digs per set while also ranking in the top 10 in the conference in aces.

Conference Carolinas is a NCAA Division II athletics conference made up of 11 teams from Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. These institutions consist of: Barton College, Belmont Abbey College, Converse College, Emmanuel College, Erskine College, King University, Lees-McRae College, Limestone College, University of Mount Olive, North Greenville University, and Southern Wesleyan University. Emmanuel College is currently completing the NCAA Membership Process and will be fully competing in league championships in the near future.
