HIGH POINT, N.C. – Barton College's Kaytlin Elkins has been named Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for matches played during the week of Oct. 2 - 8, the Conference announced today. This is now Barton's third straight Conference POTW honor, and Elkins' second.
Elkins, a freshman from Hope Mills, N.C., helped Barton stay unbeaten in conference play by posting impressive marks in two games last weekend.
Elkins recorded 16 kills in Barton's first match of the weekend, a 3-1 win over King. She followed up that performance in Barton's sweep of Lees-McRae the next day, posting another 14 kills and averaging 4.29 kills per set on the weekend. Elkins has now recorded double-figure kills in eleven straight matches.
Elkins currently ranks first in Conference Carolinas in kills per set (4.06) and second in kills (256).
Also nominated for Women's Volleyball Player of the Week: Paige O'Connor (Southern Wesleyan), Victoria Norwood (Limestone), Samantha Hebb (North Greenville), Madison Martin (Lees-McRae), and Amy Serowski (King).
