HIGH POINT, N.C. – Belmont Abbey College setter Cassidy Bonito has been named Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for matches played during the week of Aug. 27 - Sept. 2, the Conference announced today.
A junior from Pompano Beach, Fla., Bonito posted a triple double and two more double-doubles on the week. The setter tallied 216 assists to average nine per set, while also notching 43 kills, 42 digs and 15 service aces. Bonito's triple double would come in a match against Mars Hill, where she dished out 46 helpers, collected 12 digs and put away 10 kills.
Bonito currently ranks first in Conference Carolinas in service aces (15), while ranking second in service aces per set (.63). She also ranks fourth in both assists per set (9.0) and total assists (216).

Julie Ward (King) - 49 kills for a 3.77 kills per set average along with 68 digs in four matches. Posted three double-doubles.
Morgan Pearson (Converse) - 39 kills for 3.25 kills per set average along with 36 digs in four matches.
Courtney Williamson (North Greenville) - 45 kills for 3.46 kills per set average along with 31 digs in four matches.
Mia Bergan (Limestone) - 102 assists for a 9.27 assists per set average along with 38 digs and 11 kills in three matches.
Reilly Barlett (Erskine) - 65 assists for a five assists per set average along with 19 kills and seven aces in four matches.
Ania Keene (Mount Olive) - 29 kills for 2.90 kills per set average along with 34 digs in three matches
Kaytlin Elkins (Barton) - 70 kills for 4.67 kills per set average along with 42 digs in four matches. Posted pair of double-doubles.
