2017 Conference Carolinas Fall Championship Season Kicks off with Cross Country Championships this Friday in Concord, N.C.

HIGH POINT, N.C. – The 2017 Conference Carolinas fall championship season kicks off this Friday, October 20th with the Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships.  The championship meet will be hosted for the sixth straight year by Belmont Abbey College at Frank Liske Park in Concord, N.C. The women will take the starting line at 3 p.m. with the men following at 4 p.m.

Eight men’s teams and ten women’s teams will compete in the championship races. The University of Mount Olive teams will headline the action on both the men's and women's side as they look to defend their respective conference titles.  The Mount Olive men are currently sitting at No. 6 in the national rankings while the women sit at No. 21.  Additional Cross Country Championships information can be found here. 

The next championship event on the docket after this weekend will be women's soccer, with quarterfinal play commencing on Monday, October 30th.  Men's soccer and women's volleyball will follow shortly thereafter.  The full schedule of Conference Carolinas championships can be found here.  

 


Conference Carolinas is an NCAA Division II athletics conference made up of 11 teams from Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. These institutions consist of: Barton College, Belmont Abbey College, Converse College, Emmanuel College, Erskine College, King University, Lees-McRae College, Limestone College, University of Mount Olive, North Greenville University, and Southern Wesleyan University. Emmanuel College is currently completing the NCAA Membership Process and will be fully competing in league championships in the near future.
