Jack Childress has agreed to serve as the Conference Carolinas football supervisor of officials for the conference’s inaugural three seasons in 2025, 2026, and 2027.
Childress was an official in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) from 1997-2011 and has more than 30 years of experience officiating high school games in North and South Carolina.
During his career he worked two ACC Championship games, two Rose Bowls, The Army/Navy Game, and the Orange Bowl along with numerous other bowl games. He also worked one NCAA Division II National Semifinal contest. He currently also serves as the Supervisor of Officials with the South Atlantic Conference (SAC) as well as a Southeastern Conference Replay Center Collaborator. Childress has worked as replay on five SEC Championship games.
At the high school level, he worked 12 South Carolina high school state championship games as well as the North Carolina/South Carolina High School Shrine Bowl.
He was a member of the Board of Directors for the ACC Football Officials Association and a past member of the Referee Magazine editorial staff. He is a member of three different halls of fame, the Mount Airy, N.C. Hall of Fame, Surry County, N.C. Hall of Fame and the South Carolina Football Officials Association Hall of Fame.
