A sophomore from Franklin, Pennsylvania, Matthews helped King to a win over Chowan last weekend by taking a win and a runner-up finish. Matthews won the 100-meter freestyle with a time of 1:02.07 and took runner-up honors in the 50-meter freestyle with a time of 28.26.
In addition, Matthews helped the 200-meter medley relay team to a win with a time of 2:09.54.
