A fifth-year student-athlete from Asuncion, Paraguay, Sebastian Garcia of Francis Marion was huge for the Patriots last week in their two matches.
Garcia played all 90 minutes in Francis Marion’s 1-1 tie at preseason South Atlantic Conference favorite Wingate. He scored Francis Marion’s goal in the match in the 22nd minute. In Francis Marion’s conference-opening win over King on Sept. 16 in Florence, Garcia helped to limit the Tornado to just one shot on frame in the entire match.
In total in the two matches on the week for Francis Marion, Garcia helped anchor a unit that allowed only 17 shots overall with just six of the shots on frame.
