A freshman from Avellino, Italy, Benedetta Pepe Pugliese of UNC Pembroke registered four top finishes at the King Invitational and took home a second-place finish as well.
The newcomer won the 200-yard individual medley (2:07.37), 400-yard individual medley (4:29.16), 200-yard breaststroke (2:17.70) and swam the opening leg of the 400-yard medley relay team (4:01.05).
Pepe Pugliese shattered school records in the 200-yard individual medley as well as the 200-yard breaststroke, while recording NCAA B standard times in the 200-yard breaststroke and 400-yard individual medley.
