A freshman from Eldoret, Kenya, Moureen Kimaiyo of UNC Pembroke was tabbed as the Freshman of the Year and the Runner of the Year in Conference Carolinas after claiming the individual title at the 2023 Conference Carolinas Women’s Cross Country Championship.
Kimaiyo picked up the third straight individual win for UNC Pembroke with a 6K time of 22:07.1. She also claimed a strong finish at the 5K UAH Invite in October with a time of 18:42.6.
