A freshman from Santiago in the Dominican Republic, Darielys Ortiz of Emmanuel captured her second straight Freshman of the Month honor after a stellar November.
Ortiz earned three school records at the annual Fall Frenzy Invite in Charlotte, North Carolina, while also swimming three season-bests in the individual events in the 50 freestyle (24.03), the 100 freestyle (52.74) and the 100 butterfly (58.58).
In the school-record 200 freestyle relay, Ortiz owned a 24.17 free split. She posted a 52.94 100 freestyle lead-off split in the 400 freestyle relay school-record performance. In the 800 freestyle relay school-record performance, Ortiz posted a 200 freestyle split time of 1:57.40.
