A junior from Morelia, Mexico, Martin Barbera of Francis Marion picked up two big wins at No. 1 singles and doubles last week.
Against West Virginia Wesleyan, Barbera beat Khiro Karaswa 3-6, 6-2, 6-3 at No. 1 singles and teammed with Leonel Gonzalez to beat Karaswa and Jed Platts, 7-6 (7-1), at No. 1 doubles. Against Edinboro, Barbera beat Bruno Sabio 6-1, 6-4 at No. 1 singles and teammed with Gonzalez to beat Gordon Mileusnic and Fabricio Pons, 6-4, at No. 1 doubles. Barbera and Gonzalez are ranked 44th nationally in doubles.
