In two starts last week, Pirkle tossed 11.2 innings, including a shutout against Francis Marion. He tossed all seven innings of a 4-0 win over Francis Marion where he struck out six and only allowed two hits. Earlier in the week he tossed 4.2 innings in a 3-2 win over Belmont Abbey where he didn't allow a hit. For the week he posted an ERA of 0.80 with seven strikeouts.
