A sophomore from Richmond, Virginia, Jefferson competed in a total of four events over the weekend while being part of two NCAA marks on the relay teams.
At the Trojans Relays on Friday, she captured the event title in the 400-meter hurdles after crossing the line with a season-best time of 1:02.47, which ranks second in the Conference Carolinas this season. She also qualified in the long jump with a season-best distance of 5.63 meters to record a second-place finish.
At the Duke Invitational, the 4x100 relay team of freshman Kiara Campbell, sophomore Chianel Asoburuenwu, junior Lasira Nicholson, and Jefferson placed fifth overall with a time of 46.34 seconds to hit the NCAA Standard and the top mark in the Conference Carolinas this season. In the 4x400 relay, the squad of senior Vinesha Briggs, senior Natalyah Wilson, Asoburuenwu, and Jefferson recorded an eighth-place finish and an NCAA provisional mark after crossing the line at 3:47.12, which is the fastest time in the league.
