Hernandez had a great first collegiate month, helping Emmanuel stay undefeated with nine dual meet wins. In wins over Brenau, Sewanee, Montevallo, Life, Berry, and UT Southern at the Sewanee Relay Invitational. At the event, she won five events 50 yard freestyle (25.92 seconds), 100 yard individual medley (1:04.17), 100 yard freestyle (56.96 seconds), 200 yard freestyle (1:56.43) and the 500 yard freestyle (5:19.47). She also finished eighth in the 50 yard backstroke with a time of 29.76 seconds. In wins over Berry College, Montevallo and Converse, Hernandez won three events and took third in another. She won the 50 yard freestyle (24.45 seconds), 200 yard freestyle (1:55.43) and the 1000 freestyle (10:42.03). She finished the 200 yard breaststroke in 2:31.21 to take third.
