Powell, a native of Georgetown, S.C., delivered four strong appearances for the Patriots, including a pair of midweek starts. He posted a 2-0 record with a 2.25 ERA over 20.0 innings after allowing just five earned runs on 17 hits with 13 strikeouts.
Powell tossed 1.2 scoreless innings of relief at USC Aiken on Feb. 3 before pitching 7.2 innings out of the bullpen with zero runs on five hits with five strikeouts to earn the win in a 14-3 victory over Coker on Feb. 10.
Additionally, he secured a win in his first career start after tossing 5.1 innings with three earned runs on seven hits with four strikeouts in a 12-11 win against Lander (Feb. 17). He closed the month with another quality performance after pitching 5.1 innings with two earned surrendered on five hits with three strikeouts in a 5-3 win at Newberry (Feb. 24).
