She posted Conference Carolinas wins over Young Harris and Converse. Against Young Harris, she defeated Maud Scholten 7-5, 7-6 (7-2) in singles play before topping T. Panwar of Converse 6-2, 6-1 in singles. In doubles against Converse, Burkhalter defeated R. Rueff and L. Maynon 6-3.
