Patterson opened his career with a pair of top 10 finishes and a Conference Carolinas Golfer of the Week award in September. He started his career with a seventh-place finish at the Full Moon BBQ Invitational, where he finished with a tournament score of two-over 215. He opened with rounds of two-under 69 and one-under 70 before shooting 76 in the final round. He then finished runner-up at the Dunning Invitational with three rounds under par to finish at seven-under 209. He opened and closed with rounds of one-under 71 while shooting five-under 67 in the second round. Patterson then closed the month at the King Invitational, where he shot 152 (71-81). He finished the month with a stroke average of 72.0.
