A senior from Walhalla, South Carolina, Holcombe turned in a career-best time to lead the Crusaders to a ninth-place finish at the Queens City Invitational hosted by Queens University of Charlotte on Saturday.
Holcombe finished the 8K course in a time of 25:20.33, good for 37th in a 313-runner field. He was also the top Conference Carolinas finisher at the event which featured six other conference institutions.
