A junior from Winston, North Carolina, Burnette had an impressive performance at the Virginia Military Institute Winter Relays as he finished second in the 60m with a time of 6.81 and second in the 200m with a time of 21.56. Both times are tops in Conference Carolinas this season while his 60m time was an NCAA Division II provisional mark and ranks 15th in the country.
