A senior from Mobile, Alabama, Alston posted an NCAA provisional time and the top time in Conference Carolinas this indoor season in the 60 meters with a time of 7.63 at the Camel City Invitational in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Alston also posted the best time in Conference Carolinas this season in the 200 meters at 24.97.
