A senior from Birmingham, Alabama, Sims Jr. won the 400m at the Champion Team Challenge with a time of 49.21, which was a meet record and the second-fastest time in Conference Carolinas this season. The time is also an NCAA Division II Provisional mark, which ranks fifth in the Southeast Region and 25th overall.
