A freshman from Eden, North Carolina, Powell collected seven wins in the circle and hit .308 over the course of the month for Lees-McRae.
Powell started the month strong by pitching a no-hitter in an 8-0 win over Barton on April 2. Powell struck out six in the victory. In total during the month of April, Powell struck out 66 in 57.2 innings pitched.
The freshman also collected 13 hits, 10 runs scored, 23 RBIs, four doubles and five home runs in the month of April. Powell hit two grand slams in the month of April against Chowan on April 1 and North Greenville on April 12 to help the Bobcats clinch a spot in the Conference Carolinas postseason tournament.
