A junior from Donetsk, Ukraine, Semenov collected two individual and two relay wins at the season-opening King Invitational this past weekend. Semenov picked up first-place honors individually in the 100 butterfly (50.77) and the 100 backstroke (51.56). He also secured second-place honors in the 50 freestyle (21.43) and the 100 freestyle (47.26).
Semenov was the anchor (21.10 split) in the 200 freestyle relay-winning team for Emmanuel (1:25.49) and also the anchor (45.39 split) in the 400 freestyle relay-winning team (3:09.42). Semenov was also the anchor (21.19 split) in a third-place finish in the 200 medley relay for Emmanuel (1:37.77).
