GREENVILLE, S.C. – Conference Carolinas has released its 2025 women's soccer all-conference honors as chosen by the league's head coaches.
Francis Marion University took home three major awards with the other going to Young Harris College. For the Patriots, Tehya Dave' was selected offensive player of the year, Alana Hunt earned defensive player of the year and Sam Holmes garnered coach of the year honors. Scarlett Hirschy of Young Harris was tabbed freshman of the year.
For the second straight year, the offensive player of the year is from Francis Marion as Dave' paced the Patriot offense all season. She ranks third in Conference Carolinas with 10 goals and fifth with six assists. Dave' has performed in the clutch as her six game-winning goals lead Conference Carolinas by two over second place. That mark also ranks third in all of NCAA Division II. Her 26 points are the third-most in the league, ranking fourth.
Hunt has anchored a Francis Marion defense that only allowed four goals all season and a scoreless streak that reached 1171:12, the sixth-longest shutout streak in NCAA Division II women's soccer history. The Patriots didn't allow a goal from September 13 until October 28. Hunt played in 1390 minutes, ranking second on the team and added a goal.
Hirschy has had a spectacular rookie campaign as she garnered Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Month honors in September. She leads the league in goals and shots on goal with 13 and 35, respectively. Her three game-winning goals are the third-most in the league as are her 28 points. She ranks 10th in NCAA Division II with an average of 0.81 goals per game and eighth in total goals. Hirschy posted four multi-goal games, including a hat trick on October 1 against Emmanuel.
Holmes garners coach of the year for the first time after guiding the Patriots to their second straight Conference Carolinas East Division title, a 15-1 record at top seed in the Conference Carolinas Women's Soccer Championship. The Patriots have been ranked in the last six United Soccer Coaches national poll, reaching as high as 17th on October 14, 21 and 28. Francis Marion is currently ranked 21st in the national poll.
