FRESHMAN OF THE MONTH - Previous Winners

In November, Pesut averaged 10.26 assists and 3.52 digs per set, along with posting double-doubles in seven of Emmanuel's eight matches. She was also named Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Championship MVP. She started the month with 51 assists and 18 digs and closed it with 39 assists and 12 digs in the conference championship match. In a conference quarterfinal, the freshman posted nine kills, 46 assists and 31 digs.

Bonner was a perfect 13-for-13 on extra points in November and made all four of his field goal attempts. He converted from 29 yards twice, as well as 21 and 36 yards.

Jordan Weltzin | Montevallo | 141 pounds | Freshman | Alabaster, Ala.
Weltzin went 12-7 in November for Montevallo, finishing fourth at the Pepsi Patriot Open, sixth at the King Open and second in the silver division at the Lucha Open. He posted two wins via pin, three by major decision and one on a technical fall. At the Pepsi Patriot Open, he went 4-2 with two major decisions and one technical fall before going 4-2 at the King Open with one win by fall. He closed the month with three wins by decision and one by fall to take runner-up at the Lucha Open.

Lepper tallied four points on two goals in November. She scored the game-winner in a 1-0 victory over Chowan and later found the back of the net in a 3-1 win over Young Harris.

Gegg posted seven points in four November matches for Lees-McRae, including three goals. His first two goals of the month were game-winners against North Greenville (1-0) and Belmont Abbey (3-0). In the match against Belmont Abbey he tallied two goals and added an assist.

In November, Manning was selected Conference Carolinas Player of the Week once and Defensive Player of the Week once. In five games, the freshman averaged 15.8 points and 11.2 rebounds per game while posting four double-doubles. She scored 16 points and added a career-high 15 rebounds in the season-opener against Clayton State. She later scored 21 points and added 12 rebounds in a win over Southern Wesleyan. For the month she shot 56.7 percent from the floor.

Alston averaged 11.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per game in four November contests for Mount Olive. He scored in double figures in all but one game and grabbed at least six rebounds in each contest. He posted a career-high of 14 points and seven rebounds in a win over Middle Georgia State before closing the month with a career-high eight rebounds in a win over Augusta.

In two November tournaments, Whetzel registered 1103 total pins for an average of 183.8 pins per game. She posted two games over 200 with a high of 212. She finished 37th with an average of 177.8 over four games at the DII Thanksgiving Classic and finished 73rd with a 196.0 average over two games at Coppin State.

Romic has been one of Chowan's best swimmers in November, taking several first place individual finishes throughout the month, including at the mid-season King Invitational.

Denis Popov | Montevallo | Freshman | Moscow, Russia
Popov posted nine times that ranking in Montevallo's all-time top 10, coming in eight different events at the House of Champions event. His 200 yard freestyle relay team posted the third fastest time in program history, finishing in 1:23.08. In the 200 yard individual medley, his times of 1:51.74 and 1:51.75 rank fifth and sixth. He ranks 10th in program history in the 50 yard, 100 yard and 200 yard backstrokes, finishing with times of 24.18 seconds, 50.05 seconds and 1:51.23. His 400 yard medley and 400 yard freestyle relay teams rank sixth and fifth in program history with times of 3:25.10 and 3:06.61, respectively.
He also won the 200 yard freestyle against Berry with a time of 1:47.22 and his relay touched the wall first in 1:27.12.
