INDIANAPOLIS – The NCAA announced region rankings, for baseball, softball, men’s lacrosse and men’s and women’s tennis this week. Conference Carolinas had 12 programs ranked in the six sets of rankings.
The rankings are the official poll utilized by the NCAA in the championship selection process and will continue to be released each week by the NCAA Division II Baseball, Softball, Men’s and Women’s Lacrosse and Men's and Women's Tennis Committees up to the NCAA Championship selections.
Men’s and Women’s Tennis Rankings
In the second set of women’s tennis rankings, Young Harris College is ranked eighth and Belmont Abbey College is ranked 10th. The Mountain Lions are 17-5 while Belmont Abbey owns a 17-6 record.
In the second set of men’s tennis rankings, the University of Mount Olive is ranked seventh, Belmont Abbey is ranked eighth and Converse University is ranked ninth. Mount Olive owns a 13-4 record while Belmont Abbey is 13-7. Converse owns an overall record of 13-6, going 13-5 in region matches.
The final sets of tennis rankings will be released on April 29 before the NCAA Division II Championship fields are announced May 4.
Men’s Lacrosse Rankings
Belmont Abbey remains in the second men’s lacrosse South Region Rankings. The Crusaders are ranked 12th with a record of 12-3.
The final set of rankings will be released on April 29 before the NCAA Division II Championship field is announced on May 3.
Baseball Rankings
The first set of rankings are ranked in alphabetical order before the second set on Wednesday, April 22 will be ranked 1-10.
Belmont Abbey, Francis Marion University, North Greenville University and Young Harris are all under consideration in the first baseball region rankings.
The Crusaders are 33-11 this season while Francis Marion owns a 37-9 record. North Greenville owns an overall mark of 40-7, going 39-7 in region contests while Young Harris boasts a 33-13 record.
There will be two more sets of region rankings on April 29 and May 6 before the NCAA Division II Championship field is announced on May 10.
Softball Rankings
The first set of rankings are ranked in alphabetical order before the second set on Wednesday, April 22 will be ranked 1-10.
Francis Marion and Southern Wesleyan University are both under consideration in the first softball region rankings. The Patriots own a 39-10 overall record, going 36-10 in region contests while Southern Wesleyan owns a 34-12 record.
There will be two more sets of region rankings on April 28 and May 5 before the NCAA Division II Championship field is announced on May 11.
