SALISBURY, N.C. – UNC Pembroke right-handed pitcher Kasen McCawley was named National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Southeast Region Pitcher of the Week, for Week 10, the organization announced Tuesday afternoon.

McCawley, a senior from Haw River, N.C., posted another stellar outing this week, holding the second-ranked offense in NCAA Division II in terms of batting average to one run on four hits. The senior tossed all seven innings to defeat 11th-ranked Francis Marion 4-1 as he allowed only one run on four hits. In the complete game victory, McCawley added six strikeouts and held the Patriots to a .174 batting average.

McCawley advances to NCBWA National Player and Pitcher of the Week consideration, which is released on Thursday.
