HIGH POINT, N.C. – King University forward Mike Salomon has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Dec. 28-30, the Conference announced today.
A junior from Statesboro, Ga., Salomon poured in a career-high in points for King in its lone game against Southern Indiana last week. He scored 24 points on 8-for-11 shooting, including 6-for-11 from three-point range and 2-for-3 at the charity stripe. Salomon would add five rebounds and one assist to his stat line in King's 86-80 victory.
Salomon currently averages 14.2 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.4 steals and one assist per game. His points and rebounds per game both rank ninth in Conference Carolinas.
Also nominated for Men's Basketball Player of the Week:
DeQuan Abrom (Belmont Abbey) - Averaged 18 points, two rebounds and two assists in one game.
