GREENVILLE, S.C. – Ben Knust of Belmont Abbey has been selected as the Conference Carolinas Men’s Soccer Player of the Week.
The league office made the official announcement on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2019.
A sophomore goalkeeper out of Omaha, Neb., Knust was fantastic between the pipes last week for Belmont Abbey.
In a week in which Belmont Abbey was facing off against two of the teams atop the Conference Carolinas men’s soccer standings currently, Knust had two shutouts and made 17 saves.
In Belmont Abbey’s 0-0 double overtime tie with regionally-ranked Emmanuel, Knust had a career-best 11 saves. He followed that up with six saves in Belmont Abbey’s 3-0 shutout conference road win at Chowan on Saturday, Oct. 5.
