GREENVILLE, S.C. – Mount Olive’s Tai Smith has been chosen as the Conference Carolinas Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.
The league office made the official announcement on Monday, Sept. 23, 2019.
Smith finished second out of 147 this past weekend at the Bulldog Stampede hosted by Wingate. The senior from Glendale, Ariz. posted a time of 25:23.9 on the 8K course that will serve later this year as the NCAA Southeast Regional course in what will then be a 10K race.
As a team, Mount Olive finished first out of 20 teams at the event.

Conference Carolinas has a rich tradition in roots that dates back to its early initial inception on Dec. 6, 1930. The NCAA Division II athletics conference presently has member schools located in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.
