Tristin Bertie of Lees-McRae Tabbed Conference Carolinas Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week

GREENVILLE, S.C. – For the second time on the 2019 season, Mount Olive’s Tristin Bertie has been selected as the Conference Carolinas Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.

The league office made the official announcement on Monday, Sept. 30, 2019.

A native of Cleveland, Ga., Bertie led all Conference Carolinas runners on the week with an 8K time of 26:50 at the Queen City Invitational. The time placed the junior 55th at the event that featured well over 300 runners, which included runners from NCAA Division I schools.

Bertie, who was also named Conference Carolinas Runner of the Week on Sept. 9, helped lead Lees-McRae to a conference-best finish of 18th at the Queen City Invitational. The Bobcats bested Division I schools such as Gardner-Webb, Savannah State, Longwood, Presbyterian College and The Citadel.
