Converse's Davis Named Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Player of the Week
HIGH POINT, N.C. – Converse College forward Nigeria Davis has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Nov. 13-19, the Conference announced today.
Davis, a freshman from Newberry, S.C., led the Valkyries to a 4-0 week after averaging 9.3 points, 10.3 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game.
In an 94-70 blowout of Bob Jones, Davis registered a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds to go with four steals. She would follow that performance up with another double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds in a 69-57 win over P.R.-Bayamon. In a 72-66 victory over Columbia International, Davis would score eight points and grab six boards. In the week's finale, Davis pulled down 14 boards and tallied four points in a 66-63 win over Mars Hill.
