Mount Olive's Gonzalez Named Conference Carolinas Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – University of Mount Olive's Jacob Gonzalez has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week for races ran the week of Oct. 15 - 21, the Conference announced today. This marks Gonzalez's second POTW of the year and the fourth for Mount Olive.

Gonzalez finished just behind teammate Tai Smith at the NCAA National Preview held in Pittsburgh, Pa. The Sophomore from Four Oaks, N.C., placed 10th with a time of 25:27 to help his team break the tie for second with Queens University as the top four of the Trojan runners finished higher than the top four runners to give UMO a 4-1 advantage and the rightful 2nd place finish for the Trojans.

The University of Mount Olive men's cross country team is ranked 9th in the nation.
