Belmont Abbey's Rosenbaum and King's Mirabal Named Conference Carolinas Baseball Players of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Belmont Abbey College's Colin Rosenbaum was tabbed the Conference Carolinas Baseball Player of the Week, while King University's Octavio Mirabal was tabbed the Conference Carolinas Baseball Pitcher of the Week for games played Feb. 12-18, the Conference announced today.

Rosenbaum, a senior from Archdale, N.C., led the Crusaders to a perfect 5-0 record last week after posting a .579 batting average with 11 hits, 10 runs scored and eight RBI. Of his 11 hits, seven were of the extra-base variety with six doubles and one triple.

Rosenbaum currently has a .442 batting average on 19 hits and seven doubles. His 19 hits and seven doubles rank first in Conference Carolinas, while his batting average ranks fourth.

A senior from Miami, Fla., Mirabal has posted his third consecutive POTW honor after throwing another complete game for the Tornado. This time he pitched a no-hitter in King's 1-0 victory over Mars Hill. Mirabal would issue one walk, but struck out seven in his seven innings of work.
