Southern Wesleyan's Waters Named Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Player of the Week
HIGH POINT, N.C. – Southern Wesleyan University center Emily Waters has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Feb. 25 - Mar. 3, the Conference announced today.
Waters, a junior from Villa Rica, Ga., helped Southern Wesleyan close out the regular season with a 79-74 win over King. Waters registered a double-double of 28 points and 10 rebounds to go with two assists and two blocks in the victory.
Waters currently averages 13.8 points and 5.4 rebounds per game.
Also nominated for Women's Basketball Player of the Week:
Taylor Delasbour (Emmanuel) - Averaged 15 points and two rebounds in one game.
Akira Wiggins (Barton) - Averaged 22 points, three rebounds and one assist in one game.
Keyanna Spivey (Belmont Abbey) - Averaged 17 points, 10 rebounds and one assist in one game. Posted one double-double.
Schekinah Bimpa (Limestone) - Averaged 18 points, 12 rebounds, two steals and one block in one game. Posted one double-double.
Jada Bacchus (Mount Olive) - Averaged 15 points, 10 rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block in one game. Posted one double-double.
