Conference Carolinas Monday Weekly Award Winners

  • Player of the Week
    Warren Davis, King

    A senior outside hitter/right side from Mansfield, Texas, Warren Davis of King averaged 5.29 kills and 2.00 digs per set last week in two matches. 

    The senior accounted for 19 kills, seven digs and two blocks in a four-set loss to conference foe Mount Olive before posting 18 kills and seven digs in a league sweep of Barton this past Saturday. He also hit .342 against Barton, making only five errors on 38 attempts.

    Davis is currently second in Conference Carolinas in kills per set at 3.42. 

    Specialist of the Week
    Jackson Lahey, Mount Olive

    A sophomore setter from Pembroke Pines, Florida, Jackson Lahey of Mount Olive averaged 10.71 assists, 1.43 digs and 1.14 blocks per set, as Mount Olive registered a 2-0 mark in conference play this past weekend.

    This past Friday night, Lahey directed the offense with 36 assists while totaling two kills, two aces, six digs and five blocks in a 3-1 victory at King. The next day, Lahey guided the Trojan attack with 39 assists, four digs and three blocks in a 3-0 sweep over Lees-McRae on the road.

    Lahey currently ranks among the top 20 in NCAA Division I with 9.24 assists per set.

  • Player of the Week
    Tynasia Bunting, Chowan

    A junior guard from Newport News, Virginia, Tynasia Bunting of Chowan averaged 22.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.5 blocks and 4.5 steals this past week. 

    Bunting posted 21 points with six rebounds and five steals in the win over divisional opponent Barton. She concluded the week with 23 points, six rebounds and four steals against King.

    Bunting is currently in the top-10 in Conference Carolinas in points per game at 14.9. She leads the league in steals at 3.1 per contest. 

    Defensive Player of the Week
    Trinity Adams, Francis Marion

    A redshirt sophomore forward from Rock Hill, South Carolina, Trinity Adams of Francis Marion had five steals and one block in two games last week for the Patriots. 

    In the two games, Adams averaged 2.5 steals to go along with 13.5 points and 6.5 rebounds. She had 17 points, five rebounds and a steal in a conference win over Mount Olive to start the week. She closed out her week with four steals, a block, 10 points and eight rebounds in a league game with Francis Marion.

  • Player of the Week
    Daylan Askew, Chowan

    A junior guard from Ahoskie, North Carolina, Daylan Askew of Chowan averaged 33.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.0 steals to lead the Hawks to a 2-0 week. 

    Askew started the week off with a Chowan Division II record 39 points while shooting 52.2 percent from the floor and 11-of-13 from the free throw line to take down Barton. Askew would wrap up the week with 28 points, which included the game-winning three-pointer against King. He also had six assists, four rebounds, one steal and one block in the thrilling victory. 

    Askew is currently second in Conference Carolinas scoring per game at 20.0 per contest. He is averaging a league third-best 4.6 assists per game. Askew has earned weekly honors from Conference Carolinas twice in the 2023-24 season. 

    Defensive Player of the Week
    RJ Wilson, Chowan

    A redshirt senior forward from Raleigh, North Carolina, RJ Wilson of Chowan averaged a double-double with 18.5 points, 11.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals per contest. 

    Wilson posted 11 points and 11 rebounds in the win over Barton before posting a career-high 26 points with 12 rebounds and three blocks in the win over King.

    Wilson leads all of Conference Carolinas with 10.4 rebounds per game.

  • Offensive Player of the Week
    Paige Murphy, Emmanuel

    A freshman on attack from Calgary, Alberta in Canada, Paige Murphy captured her second straight weekly honor. 

    Murphy finished Emmanuel’s victory over Mars Hill with seven goals and four assists. She also collected two ground balls and caused one turnover.

    Through the first two weeks of the season, Murphy leads all in Conference Carolinas with 6.5 goals per game. 

    Defensive Player of the Week
    Logan Hibbard, Mount Olive

    A senior attack/midfield from Rochester, New York, Logan Hibbard of Mount Olive Hibbard filled up the stat sheet with five points behind one goal and four assists in a 27-1 conference win against Southern Wesleyan this past Saturday. She was stellar in the midfield with five draw controls while totaling three caused turnovers and two groundballs.

    In the first quarter, Hibbard won three draw controls while contributing an assist and a caused turnover in the opening six-plus minutes. She registered her first goal of the season early in the second before producing an assist at the 11:11 mark. She went on to tally two more assists in the third.

    Hibbard is tied for the league lead in assists per game at 4.0.

  • Offensive Player of the Week
    Erik Dozzi, Chowan

    A senior on attack from Coquitlam, British Columbia in CanadaErik Dozzi of Chowan posted 10 points in a win this past weekend over St. Thomas Aquinas. 

    Dozzi scored a hat-trick in both halves against the Spartans. He finished the victory with six goals and four assists. 

    Dozzi is currently tied for the league lead with 4.0 goals per game. He leads the league in points per game at 6.5.

    Defensive Player of the Week
    Austin Jones, North Greenville

    A graduate student goalie from Courtice, Ontario in Canada, Austin Jones of North Greenville was stellar between the pipes in the Crusader road win over nationally 20th-ranked Anderson. 

    Jones made 15 saves in the victory over Anderson. He also picked up three ground balls.
