Conference Carolinas Monday Weekly Award Winners

  • Player of the Week
    Hayden Frear, Mount Olive

    A senior from Colorado Springs, Colorado, Hayden Frear led Mount Olive with 28 kills while contributing 15 digs and five blocks in a pair of matches against Lincoln Memorial on the road. 

    This past Saturday, Frear produced 15 kills on a .300 hitting percentage while adding seven digs, one ace and three blocks in a 3-1 win over the Railsplitters. With the win, Mount Olive handed LMU its first home loss since 2021. The following day in a five-set thriller, Frear totaled 13 kills, eight digs and two blocks in a 3-2 loss.

    Frear paces the Trojans this season behind a team-leading 150 kills through 17 matches.

    Specialist of the Week
    Jackson Lahey, Mount Olive

    A 6-foot-2 setter, Jackson Lahey of Mount Olive tallied 78 assists, eight service aces, 16 digs and three blocks in Mount Olive’s two matches last week on the road at Lincoln Memorial. 

    Last Saturday, Frear directed the offense with an assist/dig double-double after recording 40 assists and 10 digs while tallying four aces in a 3-1 win over the Railsplitters. The next day, Lahey guided the offense with 38 assists, four service aces, three blocks and six digs in a 3-2 loss.

    Lahey leads Conference Carolinas with 29 aces while ranking third with 9.64 assists per set.

  • Offensive Player of the Week
    Paige Murphy, Emmanuel

    A freshman on attack from Calgary, Alberta in Canada, Paige Murphy of Emmanuel finished her two games last week with 20 points on 14 goals and six assists. 

    In Emmanuel’s win over Thomas More, Murphy scored eight times, while assisting on five other goals. She followed that up by ending her efforts with six goals and an assist in Emmanuel’s conference game with Young Harris. 

    Murphy leads Conference Carolinas in both goals (60) and assists (25). The 60 goals also leads all of NCAA Division II. 

    Defensive Player of the Week
    Kristie Fisher, Emmanuel

    A sophomore in the midfield from Thornton, Ontario in Canada, Kristie Fisher of Emmanuel stuffed the stat sheet last week.

    In Emmanuel’s two games on the week, Fisher won 12 draw controls, caused four turnovers and collected eight ground balls. 

    Fisher leads all of Conference Carolinas in draw controls with eight per game.

  • Offensive Player of the Week
    Aidan Lalonde, Mount Olive

    A 6-foot-3 senior on the attack from Coquitlam, British Columbia in Canada, Aidan Lalonde led the Trojan offense with a five-point performance after scoring four goals and adding an assist in a 12-9 victory over Southern New Hampshire this past Saturday afternoon. 

    He netted back-to-back goals to help UMO establish a 5-1 lead in the opening quarter before contributing an assist on a man-up opportunity in the third. Lalonde registered the final goal for the Trojans at the 8:58 mark of the fourth quarter to secure the non-conference win.

    Lalonde currently paces Mount Olive with 14 goals this season while ranking second on the team with 18 points.

    Defensive Player of the Week
    Caleb Mulcahy, Belmont Abbey

    A senior face-off specialist from South Lyon, Michigan, Caleb Mulcahy put together a strong last week for the Abbey, winning 39 faceoffs and compiling 35 ground balls over two games played last week.
     
    In an 11-10 victory over Embry-Riddle this past Saturday, Mulcahy finished with 19 ground balls and he went 21-of-25 on faceoff and earned his first point of the season with an assist.
