MEN'S VOLLEYBALL
FRESHMAN OF THE MONTH - Previous Winners
Jacob Martinez | Barton | Freshman | Outside Hitter/Right Side | Tucson, Arizona

Martinez averaged 2.72 kills, 1.72 digs and 0.41 blocks per set in March for Barton. He posted six matches with at least 10 kills, including highs of 16 kills and 13 digs in a win over Lees-McRae. Martinez posted a second double-double, accounting for 14 kills and 11 digs against North Greenville. He registered at least two blocks in five matches, including three matches with three stuffs.
 

WOMEN'S LACROSSE
FRESHMAN OF THE MONTH - Previous Winners
Caelyn Little | Southern Wesleyan| Freshman | Attack | Anderson, South Carolina

Little had a big month for Southern Wesleyan, accounting for 31 points. The freshman tallied 17 goals and added 14 assists. She posted four games with at least two goals and three with at least two assists, including a high of four assists against Ferrum. Her high for goals in a game came against Truett-McConnell where she posted six goals and added three assists. She added three goals against UVA Wise and Emmanuel and scored four goals against Lees-McRae.
 

MEN'S LACROSSE
FRESHMAN OF THE MONTH - Previous Winners
Jack Polhill | Bel,ont abbey| Freshman | Defense/Long Stick Midfield | Augusta, Georgia

Polhill was big on the defensive end for Belmont Abbey last week. He accounted for 25 ground balls and nine caused turnovers, helping the Crusaders to a 7-1 record. he posted seven ground balls in a win over Lander and added six in a win over Lees-McRae.
 

ACROBATICS & TUMBLING
FRESHMAN OF THE MONTH - Previous Winners
Emeri Echols | Wingate | Freshman | Top/Tumbler | Rex, Georgia

Echols was solid for Wingate in March, competing in six heats. She helped the Bulldogs to scores of 9.75 in compulsory pyramid, 9.10 in compulsory tumbling, 9.800 in acro heat 1, 9.200 in tumbling duo pass and 9.800 in tumbling heat 5. She also contributed to a team event score of 83.82 where she competed as a top and a tumbler. The Bulldogs set program records in four of the five heats Echols competes in.
 

WOMEN'S OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD
FRESHMAN OF THE MONTH - Previous Winners
Serenity Harvey | Mount Olive | Freshman | Sprints | Whiteville, North Carolina

Harvey won both of the events she competed in at the VertKlasse Meeting and all three of the events she entered at the 9th Annual Adidas Trojan Challenge. At the Trojan Challenge, she won the 200 meters, 400 meters and the 4x100 meter relay. She broke the Mount Olive school record time in the 200 meter dash at the Trojan Challenge and helped the 4x100 and 4x400 meter relay teams set school and conference records. Harvey is currently the only freshman ranked in the national top five of the 200 meter dash as she is ranked fourth.
 

MEN'S OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD
FRESHMAN OF THE MONTH - Previous Winners
Chris Harris | Mount Olive  | Freshman | Throws | Middlesex, North Carolina

Harris had a big month for Mount Olive, competing in the shot put, discus and hammer throw. He currently ranks second in the league in the discus, seventh in the hammer throw and 11th in the shot put.
 

WOMEN'S TENNIS
FRESHMAN OF THE MONTH - Previous Winners
Lexie Gillespie | Young Harris | Freshman | Hull, Georgia

Gillespie posted a combined 13-1 record in March for Young Harris, going 9-0 in singles and 4-1 in doubles. Playing at the second and third doubles fights, she earned wins over Ferrum and Shorter and fell to a ranked Columbus State squad. In singles, Gillespie played at the fifth and sixth flights, posting wins over Georgia College, Mars Hill, Lander, Erskine, Mount Olive, Emmanuel, Francis Marion and Shorter. She was also leading matches against ranked North Georgia and Columbus State when those dual meets were called.
 

MEN'S TENNIS
FRESHMAN OF THE MONTH - Previous Winners
Shumpei Kamiyama | Emmanuel | Freshman | Saitama, Japan

Kamiyama registered an overall record of 14-2 in March, going 7-1 in both singles and doubles. He played at No. 1 doubles and No. 5 singles, earning wins over Belmont Abbey, Georgia College, King, Shorter, Barton, Chowan, and Ferrum. His only defeat came to Young Harris in both doubles and singles.
 

WOMEN'S GOLF
FRESHMAN OF THE MONTH - Previous Winners
Mia Andrade | Southern Wesleyan | Freshman | Chapin, South Carolina

Andrade posted three top 10 finishes in March, including one inside the top five. She finished ninth at the Sapona Intercollegiate with a total score of 156 before taking third at the Converse Spring Invitational with a score of 151. She then shot 146, including a new school record of 71 to finish third at the Agnes McAmis Memorial. Andrade closed the month with a score of 237 at the Greenwood Inviational to finish 29th.
 

MEN'S GOLF
FRESHMAN OF THE MONTH - Previous Winners
Gabriel Hull | Emmanuel | Freshman | South Daytona, Florida

Hull finished March with a stroke average of 70.77 in nine rounds for the Lions. He won the highly competitive Ralph Harrogate Memorial, shooting 205. He also finished 25th at the Greenwood Invitational with a score of 215 and 21st at the Battle at the Lakes with a tournament total of 217.
 

WOMEN'S BOWLING
FRESHMAN OF THE MONTH - Previous Winners
Alexis Tignor | Belmont Abbey | Freshman | Hebron, Kentucky

Tignor bowled the final two games of the traditional portion as the Columbia 300 Music City Classic, averaging 216.5. She helped the Crusaders upset second-ranked Vanderbilt with a game of 213 and later bowling a game of 220.
 

MEN'S BOWLING
FRESHMAN OF THE MONTH - Previous Winners
Joseph Woods Weisman | Belmont Abbey | Freshman | Minneapolis, Minnesota

Woods Weisman became the first Belmont Abbey bowler in program history to earn a berth in the United States Bowling Congress Intercollegiate Singles Championship Friday, finishing third at the sectional championship at the Smyrna Bowling Center. The Minneapolis, Minn. native claimed one of five slots at the sectional and will join 19 other bowlers from around the country in Green Bay, Wis., April 13-18 to compete for the national title. He totaled 1354 pins for an average of 225.7 over six games to stand 17 pins over the cut line. He entered the final game tied for 17th, but scored a career-high 278, his fourth game over 200 on the day.
 

SOFTBALL
FRESHMAN OF THE MONTH - Previous Winners
Julia Moore | Young Harris | Freshman | Pitcher | Canton, Georgia

Moore finished March with an ERA of 0.85 over 65.2 innings pitched where she allowed only nine runs, eight earned on 36 hits. She went 8-1 on the month with eight complete games, including five shutouts, and added four saves. She tossed shutouts against Shoter, Emmanuel, UNC Pembroke, Erskine, and King. Morre also added 70 strikeouts, including a high of nine in the win over Shorter. In those 14 appearances, Moore only allowed more than one run in a game once, and didn't give up a run in nine of those 14 appearances.
 

BASEBALL
FRESHMAN OF THE MONTH - Previous Winners
Logan Davis | Francis Marion | Freshman | Infield | Charlotte, North Carolina

A native of Charlotte, N.C., Davis posted a .324 batting average while playing as the program's everyday shortstop, as the nationally-ranked Patriots produced a 13-5 mark with 10-3 record in conference in the month of March.

He tallied 23 hits, including four doubles and a triple, while driving in 19 runs and crossing the plate 15 times. Davis registered seven multi-RBI performances and five multi-hit games. In the field, he posted a .938 fielding percentage with only four errors while turning seven double plays and recording 18 putouts.

Davis started the month with a 2-for-5 performance with two runs batted in and one run scored against nationally-ranked North Greenville. Against Barton College in a three-game road series, he tallied four hits and two doubles while driving in five and scoring twice the sweep. Davis also produced a stellar performance in the series sweep at Emmanuel University, going 6-for-13 at the plate with seven runs batted in, and three runs scored. 
 

WOMEN'S FLAG FOOTBALL
FRESHMAN OF THE MONTH - Previous Winners
Jhenelle Francis | Wingate | Freshman | Athlete | Apopka, Florida

Francis led Wingate to a 5-2 record in March, throwing for 1,109 yards for an average of 158.4 yards per game. She also ran for 741 yards for an average of 105.9 yards per game. In all, Francis accounted for 25 total touchdowns, 16 passing and nine running for the Bulldogs. On the defensive end, Francis posted 11 tackles with one tackle for loss to go along with an interception and three fumble recoveries. She also added two pass break-ups.
