In the first two games of the year, both Belmont Abbey wins, Long had a big impact with four points. She tallied a goal, the equalizer in the 84th minute before assisting on the game-winner in the 86th minute as the Crusaders defeated UNC Pembroke 2-1 in the season opener. Long then added an assist on Belmont Abbey's game-tying goal on Saturday in a 2-1 win over Wingate.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Previous Winners
Olivia Terranova | Barton | Freshman | Goalkeeper | Fayetteville, North Carolina
Terranova started the season with two solid efforts in goal for Barton. She made four saves in each contest as the Bulldogs fell to Wingate and defeated Coker. In the win over Coker she posted a clean sheet, the first of her career.

Noseda, a native of Figino Serenza, Italy, tallied three points (one goal, one assist) in his debut week with the Patriots. As a team, Francis Marion (1-0-1) went unbeaten with a 1-1 tie against 15th-ranked Flagler College before posting a 2-0 victory over Coker University. In the season-opener on Thursday, Noseda delivered an assist in a critical second-half goal for the Patriots in a draw versus the Saints. On Sunday night, he netted the eventual game-winner in the third minute of the match in a 2-0 win against the Cobras.

Vicent Sanchis | Francis Marion | Graduate | Goalkeeper | Valencia, Spain
A 6-foot-2 graduate student goalkeeper, Sanchis posted an .889 save percentage and a 0.50 goals-against average in two matches, as the Patriots registered an unbeaten week (1-0-1). Against 15th-ranked Flagler College on Thursday evening, Sanchis made four total saves on nine shots faced, including three stops in the second half in a 1-1 draw against the Peach Belt Conference preseason favorites. On Sunday night versus Coker, he produced his first clean sheet with Francis Marion after tallying four saves on 10 shots faced in a 2-0 win. Sanchis made an outstanding penalty save in the opening minutes of the first half to seal the eventual shutout.
